Nokomis 3-5W is a concentrated liquid, non-hazardous surface washing agent that can be used full strength or diluted with fresh or salt water.
For washing equipment contaminated with soluble crude and or bunker fuel oil use a 5:1 cleaning solution. Spray or brush onto surface, agitate with a stiff bristle brush and rinse with fresh or salt water.
To clean old dry crude and bunker fuel oil, apply “NOKOMIS 3-5W” blended with “NOKOMIS 3-5S” degreaser 50/50 and dilute with 30% water. Spray or brush onto surface, let stand until surface oil looks soluble, brush surface with stiff bristle brush and rinse with intense spray nozzle or rinse with high-pressure washer.
For pressure washing, pre-spray the surface with concentrate, allow to dwell on surface one to ten minutes, depending on age of oil.
To clean shoreline areas and beaches, contain the area by creating a sand barrier around a small contaminated area. Spray contaminated area with a 10:1 solution. Add salt or fresh water, agitate surface to help release oil from sand. Allow time for oil to surface, recover surfaced oil.
To clean larger tidal rock surfaces, apply 5:1 or 20 percent mixture of NOKOMIS 3-5W. Spray solution onto rocks with a garden type pump sprayer. Agitate with a stiff bristle brush. Allow to dwell on surface until surface looks soluble. Contain with boom or use oil absorbent pads to recover oil.
